Welcome to Try New Things in Toronto, a group with over 17,000 members where you get to meet new friends from all over the world, try out new cuisines and have fun trying new, fun hobbies too! Whether you're a newcomer, a college/university student, starting a new life in Toronto or looking for something to do after the 9-5 grind, TorontoTNT is for all adults of all ages.

It's Halloween — so why should the ghosts get to have all the fun at night?
Join us for a Halloween Day walk through High Park, where we'll enjoy the fall colours while stopping along the way for some of the park's stranger, spookier, and downright weird stories.
High Park has a long history of ghost stories and local legends.From stories connected to the War of 1812 — yes, that War of 1812 — to tales of mysterious deaths and people who may not have completely left the park behind, there's plenty of history to make an ordinary fall walk a little more interesting.
But don't worry.This isn't a terrifying ghost hunt.
It's Halloween in the middle of the day. 👻☀️

## 👻 What We'll Do
We'll walk through High Park, stopping at different locations along the way while I share stories connected to the park's history and ghostly legends.
Along the way we'll:- Enjoy the fall colours 🍂
- Explore some of High Park's most interesting locations
- Hear stories of ghosts, legends, and strange events 👻
- Learn a little about the park's history
- Take photos and enjoy the scenery 📸
- Have some Halloween fun along the way 🎃
We'll keep a steady walking pace, with regular stops for storytelling.
The walk will remain outside throughout — there is no entry into buildings.***
## 🎃 Halloween Day — So Let's Have Some Fun
This isn't meant to be a serious paranormal investigation.
It's a Halloween walk.Some stories are creepy. Some are strange. Some might make you wonder whether there's actually something going on.
And some are just a good excuse to tell a spooky story while walking through the fall leaves.You don't have to believe in ghosts.
You just have to enjoy a good story.***
## 🍁 Fall Weather & Expectations
This is an outdoor walk, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
High Park can be cool and damp in late October, so bring a warm jacket and wear comfortable walking shoes.
We'll be walking at a steady pace, with stops along the way for stories and photos.***

### A Scenic Fall Adventure Through Trails, Ravines & Toronto History
Toronto has some wonderful natural spaces tucked between its neighbourhoods, and this walk connects two of them into one longer adventure!
We’ll begin in Scarborough, exploring the Gatineau Corridor Trail, with its wildflowers, tall grasses, and green spaces where nature is allowed to grow a little more freely. 🍁 From there, we’ll make our way along some city streets before connecting with another trail system and continuing through the surrounding ravines toward the Rainbow Tunnel.
The tunnel is an unusual piece of Toronto history, painted in 1971 by teenager B.C. Johnson as a tribute to his friend Sigred, who died in a car accident. Although the artwork has seen better days, we’ll make a quick stop to see it before continuing toward our final destination.
We’ll finish at Shops at Don Mills, where anyone who wants to can join us for coffee, a pastry, or something to eat after the walk. ☕🥐
This is a longer outing than some of our regular walks, but we’ll take our time, enjoy the scenery, and have a break along the way.***
### 🚶♂️ What We’ll Do
Along the route, we’ll:
- Explore the Gatineau Corridor Trail and its naturalized green spaces 🌼
- Walk through parks and neighbourhood streets
- Take a break midway through the walk
- Connect with the Moccasin Trail and surrounding ravine paths 🌳
- Stop briefly at the Rainbow Tunnel 🌈
- Continue to Shops at Don Mills
- Finish with an optional coffee or snack with the group ☕
The walk should take approximately 3 hours, depending on the pace of the group and the conditions along the route.
Please note: This is a point-to-point walk. We will not return to our starting location at Dollar Tree. At the end, I’ll help anyone who needs assistance figuring out their transit options.***
### ☀️ Weather & Expectations
This walk takes place in typical Toronto weather conditions. Please dress appropriately for the forecast and wear comfortable walking shoes.
The route includes a mix of paved streets, trails, and potentially uneven or unpaved surfaces. There will be some distance to cover, so this walk is best suited to people who are comfortable walking for around three hours, with breaks.This is a social walk, not a race. We’ll keep a steady pace and make time to enjoy the surroundings.
