What weāre about
Our main goal/ mission is to explore as many wonderful hikes/ snowshoe trails, snowboarding, skiing, hut trips, camping, backpacking, spelunking, canyoneering, etc.,as well as general socializing, restaurants/pubs/taverns as possible in a safe and responsible manner, so that members can get a greater sense of all that Colorado has to offer and enjoy. Some of these we have experienced before, but many will be new to us as well.
Come join us!
PLEASE READ OUR GENERAL RULES AND LIABILITY WAIVER (You are required to read, understand and agree to all of our general rules and liability waiver in order to participate in our events. It is NOT necessary for you to physically sign the waiver for it to be in effect) - you can find it here: https://www.meetup.com/Trails-and-Ales-etc/pages
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Walk and Talk-o1423 S Pearl St, Denver, CO
Join me for a walk around one of Denverās best parks, Washington Park. Weāll meet at 1423 S Pearl Street at 6:30pm (itās always 6:30pm even if meetup says different) and walk over to the park. Weāll walk around the park one time and return to South Pearl. Total round trip is about 3.5 miles. *if you have reflective gear or lights, please wear it. It's getting dark out earlier and earlier. It will help with lighting the path and also making us visible to cars.
Walkers who want to have tacos can go to Que Suerte (also on South Pearl) for Taco Tuesday. The staff at Que Suerte really loves having us there. If you choose to stay for tacos, please be prepared to order food or drink and tip our servers.
The feedback from the group has been to walk or at least get talk-o's every week no matter the weather. #coloradostyle
Some important things to note:
- Remember the golden rule folks. Treating others with kindness, respect, honesty, patience, and curiosity is important.
- We share the golden rule with folks not in our group by sharing the trail in the park. Please walk in twoās so that our non- walk- talk-o people have plenty of space on the trail too. If somehow someone forgets and starts walking in 3 or 4 across, say weāll remind each other kindly. Say "Tacoā and squeeze in so that the person can get by us easily.
- Please pay attention to oncoming pedestrians and pedestrians behind us. Please squeeze in to the right when you see them, leaving them plenty of room to pass. We want everyone to enjoy the trail (including folks not in our group) - and not have to dodge our group. Letās remind each other to ātaco" not "tostada."
- We love fur-babies. Before bringing them consider whether your dog is great on leash, behaves well in a crowd, can keep up with our pace, and will distract or add to our group membersā experience.
- You must RSVP This is for safety. If for some reason you canāt RSVP, the group leader will take your picture and a picture of your ID and send it to the other group leaders. Itās up to the group leader if you can participate.
We can be a big group which we love! Please do your part to help us with sharing the trail so that donāt need to limit the number of attendees. If you have suggestions, thoughts, concerns, or ideas for fun activities please let us know.
Field day (pictured above) was a real hoot. It was so much fun that we'll be sprinkling in some past attendee only events throughout the year.
