What we're about

UX Speakeasy is a 501c3 nonprofit group for people in the San Diego User Experience (UX) Community, and is the local chapter of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) (http://www.ixda.org/). Interaction Designers, UX professionals, HFEs, User Researchers, Content Strategists, IAs, Visual Designers, Usability Professionals, Experience Strategists - you'll find them all here plus a few more. If you are a user experience professional and are interested in connecting and strengthening the local San Diego UX community, welcome to UX Speakeasy.

Join us each month for our monthly meetups which are informal events that allows members of our UX community to connect and share with each other. There is usually a short discussion, activity or talk on varied topics but the main focus of the monthly meetup is generally social; networking, sharing ideas, connecting.

In addition to the monthly meetup, look for us to host separate educational events throughout the year like the UX Speakeasy Conference, Sketchcamp SD and MOBd Up (Mobile Design Uprising), as well as IxDA sponsored events.

For more information and general goodness follow us on twitter: @UXSpeakeasy (https://twitter.com/UXSpeakeasy)

Unless noted, events are unsponsored and 21 and up.

UX (beer) Olympics/World Interaction Design day

13635 Kibbings Rd

For our participation in World Interaction Design Day this year we are hosting the third recurring UX (beer) Olympics, and YOU are invited to compete!

With your team prepare to face off against others in events such as blindfold wireframing, UX trivia Jenga, Icon Pictionary and more (You'll be assigned to a team at the event where your participation will help lead your team to glory.)

This is a BYOB (bring your own beer) event as it is taking place in Per's backyard. An independent jury will award points for "most interesting beer", so be sure to make good use of that opportunity.

Depending on headcount we may be short on seating, so to secure your comfort for the evening perhaps consider bringing a lawn/beach chair?

We will follow CDC guidelines to help keep us all healthy and safe.

If you are not well please stay at home to compete another day.
