What we're about

*** IMPORTANT NOTICE: OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, ALL OF OUR GROUP WALKS ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. ***

In light of the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our region, the Vancouver 'Venturers has cancelled our group walks until further notice.

The health and safety of our club members is always paramount. The decision to cancel group walks until further notice is the most responsible and appropriate action to take at this time.

We encourage you to continue to walk on your own, keep fit and healthy.

*** Join us - RAIN OR SHINE - for "Fun, Fitness, and Friendship". *** The Vancouver 'Venturers Volkssport Club is a friendly outdoor walking club. We have a lot of fun and are always keen to welcome newcomers. Our club was formed in 1997 and now has 125 full-fledged members. We enjoy walks throughout the year, rain or shine, all over Metro Vancouver and occasionally further afield. There's always a choice between a 10 km route and a 5 km route. Walking at a moderate pace without interruption, you can generally expect to complete a 10 km walk in about 2 hours and a 5 km walk in approximately 1 hour.

At every walk, upon arriving at the start point, you will be required to register. You will be signing a liability waiver (a disclaimer), as our club cannot accept responsibility for any injuries or other harms you might incur during the walk. At the start point you will also be required to pay a participation fee of either $1 or $2, depending on the walk. These small fees help cover our costs.

If you are looking for something to do that's enjoyable, healthful, and non-competitive, why not join us on one of our walks to see what it's like? Just identify yourself as a new walker when you arrive at the start point.

Please be advised that photographs and video recordings of walks and associated activities may be taken. These may be posted to Meetup, Facebook, our club's website https://vancouverventurers.com, and/or our club's newsletter. If you do not wish to be photographed or video-recorded, please let the photographer know. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you have no objection to being photographed and/or video-recorded. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions or comments, please post them here on Meetup or send an email to jerry@vancouverventurers.com.
