VSDC Online Talk: Healing Humanity; Healing The Earth, by Dr. Sailesh Rao

The Veg Society of DC (http://www.vsdc.org) is pleased to continue our monthly Sunday Speaker Series with an online event with Dr. Sailesh Rao, Founder and Executive Director of Climate Healers (http://www.climatehealers.org), a non-profit dedicated towards healing the Earth’s climate. This event, for VSDC and our meetup members & friends, promises to be informative and timely.

Dr. Rao will speak on building a new model for our world using a new story of human belonging in Nature, while playing a new game in which our stated values are axiomatically implemented, and based on a new food system in which healthy, immune-boosting, whole plant-based Vegan foods are freely accessible to every human being.

This event will be held online via Zoom.
Note that our online meetings now require a password. We will send out the meeting link and password via the meetup messaging on the day of the meeting, though only to everyone who has registered here. So be sure to register asap, and keep an eye on your inbox for the message a few hours before the event. You can register any time between now and 10 am on July 12.

If you haven’t yet used Zoom, don’t worry, it’s easy. Just click the link that will be provided, enter the password that will be provided, and you’ll enter the meeting. Please note that you don't need to have your own Zoom account to participate in a meeting that someone else has set up; just follow the prompts that come up and you can participate. And if you use a phone or computer with a camera, we’ll be able to see your smiling face. But if you’d rather, you can just call in on a voice line. When you join the call, please look for your own little microphone icon. Please mute yourself when you aren't talking.

BIO:
Dr. Sailesh Rao is a Human, Earth and Animal Liberation (HEAL) activist and an Executive Producer of four documentaries: The Human Experiment (2013); Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret (2014); What The Health (2017); and A Prayer for Compassion (2019). He is the author of two books and is a husband, dad, and since 2010, a star-struck grandfather. He has promised his granddaughter, Kimaya, that the world will be largely Vegan before she turns 16 in 2026, so that people will stop eating her relatives, the animals. He has faith that humanity will transform to keep his pinky promise to Kimaya, not just for ethical reasons, but also out of sheer ecological necessity.
