Join us for a rewarding day of volunteering at the Hatton Animal Rescue Foundation, a sanctuary dedicated to special needs farmed-animals. Located in Glenelg, MD, just 10 minutes from Great Sage, the sanctuary offers a loving home to animals with special needs, disabilities, and seniors.

Event Details:

• Date & Time: Start time is 10 AM. You’re welcome to join us for as long as you can and it's OK if you arrive late.
• Location: Hatton Animal Rescue Foundation, Glenelg, MD.
• Parking: Please park on the grass on the left side of the driveway or on Kennard Drive. Carpooling is highly encouraged to minimize cars in the neighborhood and reduce our carbon footprint. Let us know if you'd like to carpool and where you're coming from. If you can meet at the park and ride on Brokenland Pkwy in Columbia, please mention that.

Volunteer Information:

• Tasks: Be prepared for tasks that might get dirty! Dress accordingly and bring gloves, a hat, and sun protection. Tasks vary in physical demand, so there will be something for everyone.
• Liability Waiver: Please print and complete the liability waiver. Participation indicates understanding of the inherent risks involved in volunteer work.
• Rain or Shine: We volunteer rain or shine. In the event of lightning, we go indoors.

Picnic Lunch: After volunteering, I plan to have a picnic lunch in the shaded grassy area near the driveway. Please bring a blanket or chair if you'd like to join. Remember to bring only vegan food to enjoy with the group.

For this Virtual Documentary Night we have voted to talk about the documentary, The Game Changers. Meeting visionary scientists and top athletes, UFC fighter James Wilks embarks on a quest to find the optimal diet for human performance and health. Again, you must watch the film before attending this event. Here is a link to where you can watch the film for free.

This is a Voting Night, which means at the end of the night we brainstorm and vote to decide as a group what we will watch the following month, so please come ready with your recommendation. The only requirement is that the film must be available to watch online for free. If you need any ideas, you can search through the Flyers Page on the Community Documentary Night website. It is full of flyers based around certain themes and each flyer is full of documentary posters, which are hyperlinked to where you watch the films for free. Something to consider is that next month is February, which is Black History Month. Check out the Black History Month flyer if you're interested in recommending a film in honor of these holiday.

Again, you must watch the film on your own BEFORE the event. We will be meeting over Zoom, where we will break out into small discussion groups. We will do multiple rounds of small group discussion, then have a special guest Q&A, before closing out the night with a vote to decide what film we will watch the following month.
