What we're about
Vegas Programmers (Formally known as PHP Vegas) is an open and free community of computer scientists who love to develop software. Our meetup is open everyone; both new and experienced programmers are all welcome. Our meetups are on the 3rd Saturday of the month in Downtown Las Vegas hosted by Tech Alley.
We have two monthly meetups on that day.
1pm - DEMO TIME! A meetup dedicated to demoing pet projects and start ups.
2pm - One or two speakers cover technical topics involving the world of software development. Examples are PHP, JavaScript, Web Development, Open Source Software, and other programming languages.
Meetups are around an hour and a half. We will have one 45 minute presentation and then open the floor for demos/questions/and helping others.
Our group is dedicated to teaching, learning, and growing the local Software Developer & VegasTech community.
Many developers are experts in one segment or another and love when people can share valuable technologies with our group. We also love new people looking to get into programming! This group will be an opportunity for all of us to teach what we know and learn more about what interests us. If you are looking to teach, learn, network, or just mingle; please join the group and participate on our adventure together.

Join us for a long-format Kubernetes Workshop Demo presented by Cody Moss. Built by Cody Moss and Rob Cox. If you are interested in learning how Kubernetes works then this is the workshop for you. This Kubernetes workshop will take you through working locally and deploying to Kubernetes and promoting it through to other code stage environments. MergePHP & Milana Cap Presents: WP-CLI for PHP developers
When was the last time you tested code in production? Your own website doesn't count.
WP-CLI for PHP developers is the sequel of WordPress through the Terminal talk with a focus on a set of commands and tools, useful for PHP developers.
This is not just a live demo of WP-CLI commands. This is zooming out and seeing WP-CLI in collaboration with other tools in the context of PHP developer needs and everyday tasks. We'll probably release the Kraken as well.
Milana Cap is a WordPress engineer at XWP, WordPress Documentation Team representative, and Documentation Focus lead for WordPress 5.8 and co-lead for WordPress 5.9, 6.0, and 6.1 release cycles.
She helped organise some of the largest WordPress conferences, WordCamp Europe 2018 and 2019, with a focus on Contributor Days.
