Victor Hiking Trails Meetup

There are several trees leaning or down in this section of the Seneca Trail so this will be the main focus plus lopping back overhanging branches. A stop at Busy Beans seem likely afterwards.

We’ll meet at the library at 9:15 am. We’ll decide where we will hike at the library. It will be 2-3 miles at an easy pace. If you want, you can join the group for refreshments and socializing after the hike.

We will work along the pond shoreline, at the beginning at the north east shore of the pond. At the end of our work party on Thursday, I walked around the pond seeing a great many asters in early bloom or just set to bloom, along with stands of goldenrod calling in pollinators with their golden blooms and pollen (which do not cause hayfever!). So this weeks visit should be full of hope that we are indeed bringing pollinators and other wildlife back to this site with the phragmites (and a great deal of mugwort), being held at bay.
Please wear sturdy, preferably waterproof boots, work gloves, wear insect repellent bring drinking water for yourself. Clippers or loppers may be helpful. I will have hand tools available for use. Park in the parking lot or drive up to the pond near my car where I make sure there is solid ground.
