Dr. Melamed has a Ph.D. from the University of London, and has also taught at the University of London and the Open University. She can be found on Twitter at @clairemelamed.
We started the Data Science Salon format with the understanding that Data Science and its applications have the potential to tremendously impact our society in ways we have rarely seen in the past.
This time we want to talk about how NGOs, with the support of the Data Science community, could create greater impact through the use of data. If you are an NGO looking to move from vision to practice, or if you belong to the Data Science community and want to create more positive impact though your skills, this is the right event for you.
We will listen to Dr. Melamed’s experience on how to move from talk to impact, and discuss the existing ecosystem, with a special focus on Vienna, to support these efforts.
10 Min: Formal launching of the Data4Good program in Vienna. Powered by Rania Wazir.
Rania will introduce the program Data4Good lead by VDSG, as a mechanism to move from talk to impact.
30 Min: Data for Action: how to move from talk to impact in the data revolution. Powered by Claire Melamed.
