Windows Management User Group Netherlands - Meeting #2 2018

On Wednesday the 11th of April KPN ICT Consulting will be the host for our 2nd WMUG NL community meeting in 2018.

Program of the Meetup;

• 16:00 – 16:30 Reception and welcome by KPN ICT Consulting

• 16:30 – 17:30 Session 1: How KPN migrated to a Microsoft 365 workplace, by Arjan Vroege and Nicolien Warnars

In 2017, KPN started the migration to their new workplace based on Microsoft 365. This newly lightly managed workplace replaces the workplace based on Windows 7 and uses Intune as MDM provider. In this session Arjan Vroege and Nicolien Warnars will tell the audience more on the KPN Windows 10 workplace and will detail the migration strategy used where the end user was responsible for his/her own migration. Arjan and Nicolien will also go into detail on how adoption of Windows 10 and Office 365 was handled. You can expect a lot of lessons learned in this session.

Arjan is an Enterprise Mobility MVP with a strong focus on ConfigMgr and Modern Management with Intune. Arjan has 10+ years’ experience within the IT and currently works for KPN Consulting. The last couple of years Arjan delivered several sessions on events like TechSummit, Techdays and ExpertsLive (NL + EU). In all the sessions Arjan present he wants to present useful tips and information which can be used in your day-to-day work.

Nicolien is a business consultant specialized in customer success and adoption with a focus on unified communications and workspace related projects. Working for KPN Consulting, Nicolien is currently involved in multiple customer projects regarding the adoption and optimization of Office365. Sharing experiences and exchanging thoughts on customer adoption is her main goal for participating in sessions like WUMG.

• 17:30 – 18:30 Session 2: Release pipelines, continuous integration and deployment using ARM Templates in Azure by Arie de Haan

When working with Azure, the portal is your first entrance of using the services. But as we know this is not something that’s very suitable for long term implementation and operation. In this session Arie will show you how to use Microsoft technologies to have a CI/CD pipeline towards Azure. We will touch upon ARM templates, VSTS, Source control, Builds, Environments and deployments. This all to be able to utilize Azure in a controlled and repeatable way. Off course Arie will show these technologies in several demos.

About Arie de Haan:
Arie de Haan works as an Azure Cloud Architect at Pandinus. Nowadays he works in DevOps teams using agile methods like SCRUM. Utilizing release pipelines he implements Azure environments for medium to large enterprise.

Arie was the first MVP in the Netherlands for MOM/SCOM and held this position for several years. He has a firm background in System Center and implemented several large environments. Also Management Pack development was part of this.

As a former MCT and one of the founders of the SCUG he is keen in sharing his knowledge. As a organizing member of the Windows Management User Group Netherlands(WMUG NL) he helps out when needed.

Description: In this session Roel van Bueren and Peter Hermeling demonstrate how the Liquit Workspace and Liquit Setup Store can be used to deliver and manage Windows desktop applications within today's digital workspace, using a consumer style IT experience.
