What we're about

WE MEAN TO CLEAN (WMTC) is a Delhi-NCR based volunteer group conducting spotfixes, cleanliness drives and awareness programs in the region. WMTC volunteers are a team of highly motivated people from different walks of life - ranging from students to working professionals - who want to realize the dream of a clean Delhi and a clean India - Swachh Bharat. We believe that keeping our city and country clean is not only the responsibility of government alone but that of citizens like us too! Hence, we engage in 'shramdaan' or donation of effort on a weekly/ fortnightly basis.

There's only one requirement to join us: You must be driven by the realization that this country can be cleaned up only through citizen-led action, and be endlessly motivated to make (and not just see) a cleaner Delhi, and a cleaner India.

Group Rules:

• RSVPing for a meetup is mandatory. An RSVP ‘Yes’ followed by a ‘no show’ would require a reason for the back-out. First instance shall be excusable basis the reason. However, second instance shall lead to immediate termination of membership.

• Attendance at least once a quarter is mandatory. Those unable to maintain this would be removed from the group. Cases related to any personal/ other issues shall be dealt with separately. Members actively contributing in ways other than clean-up drives would be exempted from this.

• Any cases of unsolicited advances towards our female members shall be taken very seriously and such members shall be removed from the group without any prior warning or communication.

Watering and Maintenance of Saplings at Rani Bagh

Indian Oil Petrol Pump Golden Goal Service Station

One of our earliest as well as most successful plantations was at this particular divider in Rani Bagh. Regular maintenance and watering has been key in the survival of the saplings. Along with that, to ensure proper growth of saplings, a clean environment must be provided for them. Government agencies clean other public places but sadly medians are ignored for some reason. So, let's clean the litter from this median along with watering our saplings to ensure a healthy environment for our saplings. And they will ensure a healthy environment for us! Let's assemble at Indian Oil Petrol pump at 8:00 AM. And we will clean the median in Rani Bagh along with watering our native tree saplings. Just bring yourself in comfortable clothing, a water bottle, and a big load of enthusiasm.
