At long last, we're finally kicking off our first Bay Area Webcasters & Live Streamers meetup event.

Since this is the first one, we'll keep it fairly casual, though we do have some awesome speakers. We'll start with brief introductions and get a sense what people do and want to get out of the meetup.

Our venue host, Synergize, is a live digital production studio that focuses on DJ culture and music lifestyle content. Alan of Synergize will talk a bit about what they do and how they use their studio for live productions.

Bram Cohen, creator of BitTorrent, will present a high level overview of BitTorrent Live, his new p2p live streaming protocol and service.

Your meetup host, Eddie Codel, will share some of his experiences producing large scale live broadcasts during his time at Ustream and as an independent live stream producer.

Some subjects we might cover:
- Options for inexpensive HD streaming
- Mobile streaming options
- How to stream a talk with a slide show presentation
- Differences between various platforms and CDNs

If you've got something to promote or share, we'll have open time after the presentations for anyone to talk or present for up to 5 minutes. Let us know if you've got something specific you want to talk about or if you'd like to speak at a future meetup.

Doors at 6:30, well get started at 7:00. We'll have some snacks + drinks, though BYO is encouraged. If you can't make it in person, we'll of course be live streaming the meetup at Ustream and BitTorrent Live. Links will be posted prior to the meetup.

Thanks to our friends at Synergize, Ustream and BitTorrent for their unwavering support.
