We'll begin the hike from the Windsurfer parking lot at 10:00, cross the road and head up the trail for 3 miles, then return. Elevation gain: about 1200 ft. Good views of Ogden Valley. This part is not hard.
If you are feeling ambitious, you can hike the entire trail over to the North Ogden Divide, about 9.5 miles.
Try this 19.6-mile out-and-back trail near Eden, Utah. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 11 h 19 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are May through September. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
The South Skyline Trail is a long and steady hill climb. The trail climbs over 3180 feet when starting at Pineview Trailhead. From the ridgeline you can head southwest to Lewis Peak Trail or north to the North Ogden Divide Trailhead. South Skyline Trail has a lot to offer hikers, mountain bikers and off road motorcycles. The trail is mostly single track and well worn. Several trail options are presented along the trail to climb the high road for better views or to stick to the lower trails for less elevation climbs. Lewis Peak is is the prominent peak in the area and the Lewis Peak Trailhead can be accessed from either of the two South Skyline Trailheads.
