Permit Party (to apply for river rafting, kayaking and canoeing trips in 2012)

Details
Permit Party (http://www.rivergeek.com/permits/)
to apply for river rafting, kayaking and canoeing trip permits for 2012 river fun
You need not own a raft, kayak, canoe, river board, pack raft inflatable kayak or any boat at all to apply for a river permit. You need not be an experienced boater on any of the rivers to get a permit. However, in order to run many of the best known rivers of Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, New Mexico and Arizona . . . you, or someone you know, must have a permit.
The more people who apply for permits (http://www.rivergeek.com/permits/) the better our chances of getting permits; and getting them for dates that we agree we would like to do to specific rivers (http://www.rivergeek.com/permits/). Boating season kicks off in March with the first runs of the Salt River in northeast Arizona. Let's see if we can get permits for most months between then and October; or more.
To get a good overview of rivers and permit requirements, look at this web (http://www.rivergeek.com/permits/) site BEFORE our meeting.

Meet at 6 PM. Plan on this exercise taking 2+hours to explain, discuss, apply.

This is my first year to apply for permits. Those of you with experience in this process please come to the get together, please speak up to educate us. I will be very happy to have an experienced 'permit seeker' take on this very important function, of coordinating getting lots of people to apply for too few permits on so many exciting rivers.
