A unique musical experience called a "Sound Bath" Sound bath! What's that? According to sonic specialist Monte Hansen from the Crystal Ashram near Annapolis MD, “A sound bath is an immersion in sound frequency that cleans your soul.” Leave your rubber ducky at home. Bring your blankey instead, for this super relaxing immersion! According to cutting-edge doctors from Harvard, some of the deepest most profound healing in the body are accomplished with sound frequency. That’s old news though. A 2nd century stone relief in the Himalayan mountains shows us that Buddha and his entourage knew this before Christ walked the earth. The stone relief depicts the Buddha and his buddies playing ancient Tibetan singing bowls. Human Activation sound frequency specialist Robert Lee will be playing several of these rare Singing Bowls, some of which are over 200 years old. A magical alchemy of 7 -12 different metals rings in the past, present, and future for our relaxing enchantment. Even modern doctors are using these old metal bowls for healing, and they are not practicing Buddhists! As a matter of fact, modern Buddhists no longer use the bowls in their practice. Come hear the amazing story of how the practice was abandoned long ago and rediscovered in modern times. Come experience these gifts from the past in this NON-religious practice of our present. Come be rejuvenated or just captivated by this unique musical performance. Bring your pillows, blankeys, and yoga mats and snuggle into the comfort of the tranquil sounds. Feel free to sit, lay, or even stand! Did You Know? Meditating with singing bowls reduces blood pressure more than guided meditation alone. This month, we'll be talking about spreads. How do you choose a spread? How do you figure out what spreads fit your needs? Do you adapt spreads to make them work better for you? Come join us as we discuss these and other spread questions. There will also be a small amount of time at the end of the meetup to answer any other tarot questions that you may have. If you are new to the group or to tarot, come get some hands-on experience, and if you've been reading tarot for years, come help out your brothers and sisters. If you are a tarot lover, join us here: https://www.meetup.com/NoVaPracticalTarot/ - This is a completely informal meetup and people with all levels of experience are welcome to attend. Your meetup host this month is Darjeeling, who has been studying tarot since 2011. She came to it in a rather roundabout fashion; her original interest was Jungian mandala creation and interpretation for self-analysis. The transition to tarot came naturally when she began looking for a tool that was more dynamic, responding to questions and operation on a more moment by moment basis. The more that Darjeeling worked with the tarot, the more she realized that this was an open-ended tool with the capability to help people not only reflect on how to move forward in life, but how to get to know themselves better as well. Teaching others about and through tarot is something that she enjoys a lot and has felt called to for a long time. Darjeeling is here the third Sunday of the month for the Tarot meetup, sometimes followed by one of her Tarot classes.
