What we're about

Women In Tech Birmingham will meet up regularly to support, empower, and promote women in the tech industry.
It's well known that women are underrepresented in tech:
- Just 19% of those working in technology in the UK are women.
- Only 15% of students taking computer science A-level courses are female.
- Only 5% of leadership roles in the technology sector are held by women.
- The gender pay gap is 9.6%

This needs to change.

Women In Tech Birmingham wants to:
- Support, encourage and inspire each other. We want to give everyone the confidence to achieve what they want in their careers.
- Challenge the stereotypes that discourage women from studying and applying for job roles in STEM.
- Fight the challenges that women in tech face every day.
- Promote gender equality in the workplace.

Lightning Talks: Inspirational Women

Hippo Digital Ltd

Fancy practicing your speaking skills?

To celebrate International Women's Day 2022, we are hosting another one of our Lightning Talks nights but this time with some slight differences.

This month's theme is 'Inspirational Women' and you can talk about any women in your life or from history - relatives, friends, celebrities, whoever!

We'll be doing some fun activities that will give us all the chance to talk about women we admire in a way that takes the pressure of public speaking away. So think of an inspirational woman and come prepared to share some facts about her life with the group.

As always, we ask that everyone attending our event abides by our Code of Conduct. Please take a minute to read it beforehand:
