Android Atelier is an intermediate level study group where attendees will work together to contribute to an open source Android application. This study group meets once a month and is for people who know the basics of Android development, and are looking to bring their skill set to the next level.
Bring your ideas and laptops to our first meetup, as we discuss ideas for what kind of app we will build together.
Am I intermediate enough for this group?
The pre-requisite for this study group is to pull down this project from Github, and run the program on your phone or emulator:
In our inaugural meeting last month, we brainstormed app ideas and decided to enter a hackathon together: http://challengepost.com/software/android-atelier-lunch-in
We will be reviewing what we did in this meeting:
• Everyone will report on what they did, and how: UI, settings, lunch-in & lunch-out detection, notification, stats etc.
• Review the app structure and coding style.
• Review how we use github.
• What's next? Do we want to continue to work on this and publish on Google Play? If so, what else needs to be done?
Men are welcome as the guests of women coders.
