Women Who Code East Bay is partnering with Learners Guild in Oakland to foster a stronger community and provide more awesome opportunities for you to learn and meet other kick-ass women engineers in the field!

Topic: Webpack 101
Webpack is a javascript module bundler that takes your files and generates static assets. It’s a great tool that will take your complicated project and pack it up to be easily moved from development to production. In this Webpack 101 workshop you'll learn how web pack works, complete a basic setup, and get an idea of how you could expand your code optimization in the future. Get up and running on your next project with Webpack.

Learners Guild is a new, Oakland-based program that makes a career in tech accessible for adults of all demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds. The mission of Learners Guild is to provide the opportunity for anyone who has the will and capacity to become a professional software developer to be able to do so. Our program is a 10-month, immersive apprenticeship-learning environment that will transform tech-novices into full stack Javascript developers ready for high-paying careers. Our Members get professional-level skills, a portfolio of real projects, leadership capabilities, and a community of lifelong allies. Learners Guild combines a technical education program with a unique income-based repayment model that opens to doors to everyone, especially those who don’t have the financial ability to attend a university or bootcamp. Members can receive a stipend of up to $1500 per month to assist with cost-of-living expenses while they progress through the program. They also take part in an income sharing agreement for three years following the program – but only when they secure a software developer job earning a minimum salary of $50,000 per year.
