If you are familiar with HDFS, SQL concepts, advanced math, and basic classifiers such as SVM and logistic regression, this is your exclusive opportunity to level up your skills and understanding with the Women In Big Data community in a training hosted by leading data scientists on Galvanize's staff. Lead Instructor: Jared Thompson - Full Time Data Scientist and Faculty Member at Galvanize focusing on developing curriculum on engineering mathematics and statistics, machine learning, algorithms, and programming, and on research in probabilistic graphical models, causality and inference, information theory, and unsupervised machine learning. As a research advisor, Jared supervises a collaboration with the NASA Computational Physics Group performing automated feature detection on images streaming from satellites orbiting the sun, and on a stealth mode project to develop high-performance automatic label detection for cybersecurity applications. As a researcher, Jared is involved in projects involving using neural networks for matrix decomposition and probabilistic methods of automatic label detection. LinkedIn profile:
