This group is for those in support of women blazing a trail in IT Infrastructure!
Why I started this group and why you should join:
In 2019 I was given the opportunity to speak at the Colorado Technology Association's annual Women in Tech Conference about my journey in IT Infrastructure. I met incredible women from all walks of life who understand what it's like to be the only female on a technical team. I created this group because while women in our field are rare, you are not alone! Whether you've just started working in this field, have been doing it for years, or simply want to network with other women in tech, this group is for you!
We'll meet every other month around Denver to build a strong network of Women in Technical Infrastructure so you have peers to reach out to when a complicated project hits your desk, to gain insight into career paths in infrastructure, and to connect and find mentors.
This is an inclusive group open and anyone who supports women in tech is welcome!
Please join us to meet and mingle with your local WITI ladies and allies. We will be hosting an optional Toy Drive for the Children's Hospital Colorado for those of you who would like to participate. If you would like, please bring unwrapped toys to the happy hour. A WITI team member will drop everything off at Children's the following day.
To better assist you with decisions regarding donations, please keep in mind:
• Due to infection control guidelines, they can only accept items that are brand new and manufactured
• Items need to be in their original packaging
• They cannot accept toy guns or toys that depict violence (Nerf guns, figurines with guns/swords, etc.)
• They cannot accept the following items: food products, potted plants, latex balloons
• Infants/toddlers and adolescents are the age groups in greatest need
They are also currently most in need of the following items:
Single package hot wheels
Small stuffed animals
Foam stress balls
This event is not formally sponsored so all attendees will be responsible for their own drinks/food. Please wear red and look for the other WITI friends in red when you arrive at Improper City.
After the New Year, we will be planning casual Meetups on the third Wednesday of each month. More to come on this soon!
