(EB) Doc Writing Workshop for Developers and Engineers

Details
Sometimes an engineer just has to write. And if you do, you want it to be good. So bring something you’re working on, and let’s make it even better!
Juan Lara and Richard Pfeiffer will start this meetup with a short talk about how to improve your writing and then we'll form small groups to work on the projects people have brought with them.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
After working as a software developer for many years, Richard Pfeiffer realized in 2004 that it would be a lot more fun writing in natural language for a human audience than it had been to use programming languages and write for compilers or interpreters. Fortunately, around that time, Genesys needed “a programmer who can write.” Richard has been a technical writer ever since.
After studying computer science at Berkeley, Juan found technical writing to be a perfect way to reconcile his interests in writing and technology. He then made his way to Google where he happily helps maintain the documentation for Cloud Firestore, a managed NoSQL database.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: If you would like to provide advice and guidance to one of the small groups, leave a comment and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
FOOD & DRINKS: This month's sponsor, Synergistech Communications, is providing food and drinks for the meetup.
LOCATION: WeWork is at 1111 Broadway, between 11th and 12th streets. It's on the third floor of the building.
GETTING THERE:
12th Street BART station is near the building. Exit BART to the street level, walk a block southwest (toward the bay) and look for the WeWork sign at the corner of 12th and Broadway. Check in with security and come up to the third floor.
Paid parking is available on both sides of Franklin street, between 9th and 11th streets. We recommend the garage at Pacific Renaissance Plaza, 988 Franklin Street. It's easy to get into and the least expensive option (Parking for the duration of the event will cost you about five or six dollars.) Following 11th or 12th street to the northwest will take you to the building, 1111 Broadway. Look for the WeWork sign at the corner of Broadway and 12th; Check in with security and come up to the third floor.
