Orlando Word Lab

This is a writing workshop that will focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow.

We'll all write for 30 minutes, and then share our work with others, and receive helpful suggestions about what to improve. Bring your laptops, tablets, or notebook and pen and a willingness to learn.

Writers read and readers learn. But have you ever wanted to jump into a whole project based on something you just found out about? Research Quickstart will help you plot a path from know-nothing to project-competent. Bring a pen and paper and get ready to set goals for the improbable.

Jenna McKenna is from Tampa. She is an award-winning writing teacher and journalist. Her fiction and essays focus on outsider people and systems functioning invisibly within our everyday world.
