What Is a Blessing?
A blessing is fundamentally the extension of forgiveness and love. In A Course in Miracles it is described as recognizing the inherent holiness and perfection in others as reflections of one's own divine nature. Blessings occur with a miracle, a universal gift from God given by individuals to all brothers, while remembering our oneness with the Divine. Blessings affirm the unity of all minds.

Giving a blessing feels like a gentle service that reinforces one's own innocence, while receiving it acknowledges our perfect equality. This reciprocal process clears the mind of obstacles, allows divine love to flow, and culminates in a shared blessedness. These are your creations.

Objectively, the experience can be described as a deliberate practice of redirecting ego perceptions to be reinterpreted by the Holy Spirit. This clears the mental conflict, enhances relational harmony, and provides an inner tranquility that extends outward. The result: a sense of freedom, healing, and awareness of a shared brotherhood of all Beings.

The Holy Instant is a moment of perfect communion with God, where the illusions of time and space are transcended, and you enter the eternal now. It is described in A Course In Miracles as a state of mind in which the ego's perception - rooted in separation, fear, and the past or future - completely falls away. In this instant, your mind aligns with the Holy Spirit and you experience a profound sense of unity and love. The Holy Instant is a gift of grace that reveals your true identity beyond the body and the world.
What Is the Experience of the Holy Instant?
The experience of the Holy Instant is one of deep peace, joy, and unconditional love. It's a moment where all feelings of separation, conflict, or fear dissolve, replaced by an overwhelming sense of connection to everything and everyone. ACIM describes it as a state of pure awareness, where the mind rests in stillness, free from judgment or the need to defend itself. The Holy Instant is not something you create; it's always present, waiting for you to accept it. You might feel as though you've "come home" to your natural state, fully present and attuned to the divine presence within and around you. It's an experience of wholeness that transcends ordinary perception, offering a taste of eternity in a single, timeless moment.
How Can This Subjective Experience Be Objectively Described?
While the Holy Instant is deeply personal, ACIM uses analogies, contrasts, and metaphors to convey its essence in a way that can be understood objectively.
