Join us for an evening of tech talks, community networking, and good conversations at our next AJE Community Meetup!
Whether you're a backend dev, full-stack engineer, or just getting started in tech, this event is a great opportunity to:
- Hear insightful talks from fellow engineers
- Share ideas and challenges
- Connect with others working in the London tech scene
Our goal is to create a friendly and supportive space where technologists can learn from each other — and have some fun along the way. And if you think that public speaking is fun and can enhance your professional growth, why not to submit your talk at our Call for Papers page
Talk 1: Next-Level Runbooks: Essential Tools for Developer Productivity and Resilience
Leena Mooneeram (Senior Platform Engineer)
Diana Nanuti (Senior Software Engineer @ Chainalysis)
Runbooks are the backbone of reliable incident response, but are your runbooks built to keep developers productive and resilient in a 24/7 operational world? In this talk, we’ll guide you through transforming runbooks into streamlined, high-impact tools that both empower developers and drive productivity gains across your teams. We’ll explore the critical balance of detail versus simplicity, how to build runbooks as code, and why consistency and ownership are crucial for alignment across DevEx and Dev Prod teams.
Covering everything from dashboards that track meaningful metrics to next-generation AI features, we’ll walk through the anatomy of runbooks that work - and those that don’t. Learn how to craft runbooks that don’t just sit idle until the next incident but evolve with every touchpoint, staying relevant and impactful. This session offers practical insights into turning runbooks into assets that save time and reduce stress, even in high-stakes environments.
Talk 2: Modernising Code reviews with AI
Sunday Oyeniyi (Rightmove, Senior Software Engineer)
Traditional code reviews can be slow, fatigue-prone, and inconsistent, missing subtle bugs or edge cases.
This session will aim to present how AI can help to eliminate the problems of traditional code reviews in the following areas:
- Providing the context of changes in a change set
- Catching hidden edge cases
- Improving code review speed.
There will be a demo to show the above benefits. Worth stating that this will enhance and not replace human judgment and works best when integrated into existing code review workflows. Successful adoption balances automation, human oversight, and continuous tuning.
