Join us for an evening of tech talks, community networking, and good conversations at our next AJE Community Meetup!

You can support our community by donating to our Open Collective page

Whether you're a backend dev, full-stack engineer, or just getting started in tech, this event is a great opportunity to:

  • Hear insightful talks from fellow engineers
  • Share ideas and challenges
  • Connect with others working in the London tech scene

Our goal is to create a friendly and supportive space where technologists can learn from each other — and have some fun along the way. And if you think that public speaking is fun and can enhance your professional growth, why not to submit your talk at our Call for Papers page

Talk 1: Building a template for flink apps
Yusuf Papurcu (Software Engineer @ Teya)

We’ll go over what we’ve done at Teya to embrace Flink, including testing, package structure, and an example use case.

Talk2: EventStorming - Bridging knowledge gaps on product teams
Martin Zokov (Senior Software Engineer)

A common source of pain when building software is lack of shared understanding of the domain we're working in. EventStorming is a type of workshop which encourages and facilitates better communication across and within teams so that everyone is aligned on how our product works. Its intent is to gather relevant people (developers, product managers, sales people, etc) in a room so they can build a shared understanding and learn to speak the same language - that of the domain in which their software product operates. It's also a stepping stone towards Domain-Driven Design which excels in creating a codebase that will keep you sane instead of having to refactor your code after every new feature request. It's deeply rooted in systems thinking and is flexible enough to be used however it best fits your organisation. The goal of this talk is to provide a framework for better collaboration that you'll be able to use tomorrow and improve how you work together as a team.
