From Barriers to Breakthroughs: My Journey in Digital Accessibility

Thomas will speak about his 20-year career with lessons learned from every working period. Attendees will come away with a new understanding of the challenges related to accessibility. Attendees will take action using the lessons learned from this talk to continue on their accessibility journeys and be more inclusive for people with disabilities. Thomas will foster a more inclusive digital landscape that empowers and includes everyone.

• How Thomas realized he knew nothing when he started at Microsoft and was responsible for the company's adherence to accessibility standards.
• Thomas's first experience as a digital nomad in London working for Mozilla.
• Experience meeting and coworking with many people who were blind at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Meeting influencers at early A11yNYC Meetups to learn about how to influence people to make changes in technology through storytelling.
• Learn about Thomas's stint as a CTO of a technology company that only did automated scanning.

Presenter bio
For 20 years, Thomas Logan has helped organizations create technology solutions that work for people with disabilities. Over his career, he has worked with startups to Fortune 500s including Microsoft, Google, Meta, Bank of America, New York Times, Princeton University, and Disney. He has also done projects for many federal, state, and local government agencies in the U.S.

He's the owner of Equal Entry, whose mission is "contributing to a more accessible world." He's the founder of Accessibility Virtual Reality and co-founder of Accessibility New York and Accessibility Tokyo. These are Meetups related to accessibility and people with disabilities.
