Queer Camp 2014!

This May we will hit the woods! Join 60 of your new best friends for a weekend of music, workshops, hiking, camping, and playing. With communal meals, skill shares, and swimming, what more could a queer-o ask for?!?! No more boys versus girls crap, it's all for one at Queer Camp! Our mission statement: Queer Camp is committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and fun summer camp experience for adults by challenging societal norms, empowering authentic self-expression, and building a thriving community through skill-shares, dialogue, shared meals, and cooperative play. Boom!

What to expect at camp: - lots of new but welcoming faces - delicious food in abundance! We take everyone's dietary needs seriously. - workshops on everything from social justice topics, to music-making, to arts and crafts, to herb walks! - request for participants to remain substance-free unless they are managing an addiction, in which case they are asked to partake discreetly to respect other campers also managing addiction. - tent camping including running water for drinking (but not for the restrooms -- sorry, no showers) - a culture of cultivating awareness, respect, and admiration for each other's differences and commonalities, and self-determination - costumes, games, a variety show, songs, and other throwbacks to the summer camp joys you either want to relieve, replace, or experience for the first time!

Cost: It costs us $245 per person to put on the event, and we operate on a sliding scale. If you can pay more, thank you! If you can't, pay what you can! No one turned away for lack of funds.
