Fort Smallwood Park Pack Walk
Details
Join us for a group dog walk at Fort Smallwood Park!
We'll follow the path along the perimeter of the park, the Footpath app estimates it to be about 1.3 miles. I'd plan for about an hour, but you are always welcome to hang out and socialize after the walk or cut off early if you or your dog prefer.
Note that the park is part of the Anne Arundel County Parks system and has an entry fee of $8 per vehicle or $40 for an annual pass. I find the annual pass is worth it if you plan to revisit the park or visit our other county parks!
Please review our rules and expectations for group walks:
• ALL controlled dogs are welcome. Group walks are a great training opportunity. Dogs may or may not be friendly - as long as they are under control and not a threat to others, they are welcome.
• Dogs must be on leashes no longer than 6 feet. If you use a retractable leash please keep it locked, or consider borrowing a regular leash for the walk!
• On-leash dog greetings are discouraged. Please don't allow your dog to greet another without explicit permission from their handler. Not all dogs are friendly, and some are working on training. We want to create a safe space for all.
• No soliciting; we may consider collaborations with local businesses. Please reach out to admins if you are interested in working something out.
• Pick up after your dog! No one likes stepping in dog poop, and it's bad for the environment. If you run out of bags, someone else in the group is likely to be willing to lend you one!
