What we’re about

One of the biggest problems that plagues biking culture in the US is the 'Cyclist'. You all know them. They wear spandex, love carbon fiber, and constantly complain about stuff not being 'Aero' enough. The goal of the ABC is to go against that culture and ride our bikes for the sake of riding a bike, not because we are wannabe speed demons with holes in our pockets.

What sort of riding do we do? We ride at slow speeds, never leaving anyone behind. Our rides range from 5 miles total to 25 miles, often with breaks every 30 minutes. Our rides are rated by how many speeds we recommend having on the route, such as single speed, 3 speed, 7 speed, etc.

Where do we ride? Anywhere within the Portland Metro Area, as long as there's a MAX station within 10 miles we are riding there.

What are we doing when we aren't riding? There's a saying that it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. For us, it's about both. The ride is where the fun happens, and then we compliment ourselves with good food at the end.

What are we doing when the weather gets bad? Zoom meetings will be hosted where we can talk and answer questions about bicycles, gear, maintenance, and infrastructure.

What is our target audience? Anyone who uses their bike as a way to get from point A to point B, not just riding for sport. People of all ages and speeds are welcome, old, young, we are all going slow.

What else do we do? Bike-packing and is another once in a blue moon event that we like to do, if you like camping, having a good time, and riding bikes all day and eventually getting where you're going, that's what we like to do.
