Ecstatic People Summer Afternoon

An Ecstatic Dance afternoon of free movement, music, and connection. No steps to follow, no expectations, no phones. Just you, the music, and a community that dances from the heart.
Ecstatic People is a growing Lisbon community built around conscious dance: gatherings where music and movement replace small talk, and where everyone is free to move exactly as they are. This September edition takes place, for the first time, at Absent, the phone-free creative space in Principe Real. Phones go into secure pouches at the door and stay with you, so the dance floor remains fully present. It is the atmosphere we have always created by intention, now built into Absent.

## The Journey

We open softly, arriving together with breathwork and a sip of ceremonial cacao (for those who want it) to land in the body before the music begins.
Then the wave: the DJ guides us through an uplifting journey of beats, melodies, and deep vibrations, an invitation to explore, release, and celebrate.
As the music softens, we close with a gentle moment of connection, sharing space with fellow dancers before drifting back into the evening.
Come as you are. Move however you feel. Let the music carry you.

## How We Hold the Space

A few shared intentions that keep this experience safe and alive for everyone:

• Silence on the dance floor. Our bodies and breath become the language. Conversations are welcome near the entrance or outside.
• Substance-free. We meet each other with clarity. Water, and Absent's cafe before and after, have you covered.
• Consent and sensitivity. Connection starts with eye contact and a genuine yes. Honoring someone's space builds the trust we all dance in.
• Barefoot welcome. Feel the ground and move in whatever way is true for you today. Nothing to perform, everything to explore.

## Good to Know

• Doors open 30 minutes early. Please arrive earlier or on time so we can begin the opening circle together.
• Wear anything you can move freely in.
• No dance experience needed.
