Visualizing geospatial information in maps is popular in modern dashboards. However, a static map with a layer of interactivity can open up a wider range of insights for the end user. Leaflet is a leading Javascript library for creating lightweight interactive maps and the leaflet package in R provides an interface to insert leaflet maps in Shiny dashboards. Learning the basics and fundamentals of using leaflet in an R Shiny Dashboard can be a useful tool in situations where geospatial information needs to be visualized interactively.

Our speaker is Janith Wanniarachchi, an R Shiny Developer at Appsilon. He graduated from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka with First Class Honours in BSc.
