Our guest speaker, Victor Ordu, author of naijR package, would be walking us through the wonderful functionalities that abound in the package.

naijR is an R package that contains a suite of functions that make it easier to deal with data and datasets about the country Nigeria and its constituent parts. naijR brings an approach to data analysis that is tailored towards enhancing the productivity of anyone working with any data that has to do with Nigeria.

Victor Ordu is a medical doctor and public health practitioner who has worked in both the public and private sectors, locally and internationally. His foray into data analysis began with tools like SPSS and EpiInfo before discovering the world of R. Since then, he has used R in diverse work situations and has served as a community teaching assistant on Harvard University’s online course “Data Science Productivity Tools”. He was inspired to write the naijR package during the COVID-19 lockdown because of peculiar challenges that repeatedly arose when trying to analyze data specific to Nigeria. He is currently a founding partner of DevSolutions Ltd., a consulting firm based in Abuja.
