The **htmlwidgets** package ([Vaidyanathan et al. 2023](https://bookdown.org/yihui/rmarkdown/html-widgets.html#ref-R-htmlwidgets)) provides us with a framework for creating R bindings to JavaScript libraries within. HTML Widgets can be used at the R console for data analysis, embedded within R Markdown documents, as well as incorporated into Shiny web applications.
During this meetup, Bilikisu Olatunji would teach us how to create our own html widgets within R.
