About us

We're an informal group meeting regularly to talk about "abundance"-related topics:

What if scarcity isn't inevitable – it's just a problem we haven't solved yet?

Maybe you're interested or curious about one or more of the following topics, which may be grouped under the emergent abundance-conversation:

  • Making it easier to build all the things we so desperately need more of, like housing and clean energy – the vision of Derek Thompson and Ezra Klein in their book "Abundance"

  • Developing powerful technologies like AI/robotics and bio-tech in a safe and responsible way, unlocking unimaginable abundance

  • Preserving and strengthening the heritage from the Enlightenment – reason, science, humanism, the institutions of liberal democracy – which has brought so much progress to the world

  • Making the economies of Norway and Europe more competitive/productive – better conditions for startups/scaleups, finishing the European single market, accelerating research and development

  • Ecomodernism: boosting economic growth while preserving the environment – clean energy, cultivated meat, electric tech

  • Strengthening the defense of our liberal-democracies – building resilient supply chains and defense capacity

Different starting points, but the same instinct – we can make the pie bigger, not just fight over the slices.

And the potential goes further than material wealth – a vastly better world for humans and non-human animals alike, built with things like science, technology, smart policy and an expanding moral circle.

I'm not a tech expert or a professional – just an enthusiast looking to discuss motivating visions for Norway, Europe and humanity. Curious minds welcome, whatever your background, political view or level of expertise – even strange and controversial ideas have a place here. Just bring curiosity, empathy and intellectual humility.

This is a new initiative and input is very much appreciated – whether that's suggestions for topics, venues, or how the group should develop. If you'd like to co-organize or help shape what this group becomes, please reach out. And if a better abundance-focused group already exists, or someone wants to start one, I'd rather join forces than compete – just let me know.
