About us
All are welcome at Brooklyn Botanic Garden! The Garden offers a variety of programs and tours designed to support audiences with disabilities. Programs are led by extensively trained Garden Guides and members of the disability community, and most are free for preregistered participants.
ASL interpretation, verbal description, and other accommodations can be requested for any BBG program with two weeks’ notice. Contact visitorservices@bbg.org with requests.

ASL Artist Talk: Patterns and Shapes in Nature
Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1000 Washington Avenue, Kings County, NY, USIn this ASL tour, artist and designer Trevor Baldwin will focus on the patterns, shapes, and colors of tropical plants in BBG’s Conservatory. Participants will explore, discuss, and together recognize specific patterns among the plants. The tour leaders will reference the fashions of Iris van Herpen (now on view at Brooklyn Museum) to illustrate the parallels between the Garden and fashion.
The indoor program will be followed by an outdoor seasonal highlights tour, for a full-Garden experience that expands the observation of patterns and further develops an interactive nature vocabulary.
This program is designed for the d/Deaf community. Some portions are without voice interpretation.
