Remember when you used to play?
We're Acework — a recreational tennis league in Edmonton, 50+ members and growing. We play every week, year-round (indoors all winter at Saville), and we're built for one kind of person: the busy adult who loves this game but can't build a life around it.
Here's how it works:
You get matched, not embarrassed. Every match counts toward your skill rating, and you only play people at your level. Rusty after ten years off? Half of us were. Total beginner? We have an entry league where everyone's playing their first real match.
Your schedule wins. No fixed-time commitments — in our flex league, you and your opponent pick the time that works. Three matches over six weeks, played whenever life allows.
It's cheap, and it's honest. Joining a match is free — you just split court time with your opponent. No hidden fees. Our books are open.
The tennis is real, the pressure isn't. Serious about play, not about pressure — that's the whole philosophy. Win or lose, there's usually food after.
Come play one match. That's the whole pitch. If it's not for you, no hard feelings — but fair warning: most people stay.
First timers: bring a racquet (or borrow one of ours), show up, play, eat. We'll take care of the rest.
