What we’re about
If you want to connect more authentically with yourself and with others, and to create a meaningful community that feels like home, this meetup based on the Awareness, Courage and Love (ACL) model developed and researched at the University of Washington is for you. Led by experienced trainers and members of the group, we will practice: open-hearted presence; self-expression; deep listening, acceptance and compassion; self-care; embracing vulnerability; giving and receiving support; and living more boldly. After each meeting, you will leave with exercises and tools that you can try with 2-3 people or more (family, friends, co-workers, intimate partners) to deepen your relationships and to move towards what you value most in life. IMPORTANT: This is a social group, NOT a therapy group to resolve psychological/psychiatric problems.

Are you looking for a place to connect deeper and skip the small talk? This is the event for you! You will be guided through a fun yet self-inquiring evening and given the opportunity to connect meaningfully with yourself and others. Prompts will be provided to release the pressure and give you more space to freely express yourself. Expect to leave feeling energised and empowered!
In this meetup, we will explore the theme of cultivating fuller awareness through individual and group exercises. We will practice being present with one another and spend some time sharing our experiences.
Please bring a pen and paper to write with (but we will have spares in case you forget).
You are welcome to bring someone with whom you’d like to deepen your connection with or to come by yourself and connect with others in the group.
We are asking for a donation (£10 suggestion) to maintain the running of these groups and to support The Power to Live Foundation which provides low-cost, high-quality mental health care for all www.powertolive.uk. If you enter the Power to Live website, there is an option to donate on the first page. If you are struggling financially and cannot afford this, please let us know - we want all to be able to attend if they wish!
