RE: TECH TALK: A Comparative Analysis of Deepseek, Gemini Advanced, and ChatGPT

Details
NEOACM will present a REMOTE TECH TALK on APRIL 12, 2025 at 2:00 -3:30 PM EDT. This tech talk is entitled:
"A Comparative Analysis of Deepseek, Gemini Advanced, and ChatGPT-o3 mini high using the Lenora Framework."
Over the last two years, AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini Advanced, and Deepseek have become increasingly integrated into research university classrooms and academic workflows. Librarians and educators must assess these technologies critically. This presentation introduces LENORA, a framework developed to conduct a comparative analysis of AI models structured around six key dimensions:
- Learning Capability,
- Explainability,
- Natural Language Understanding,
- Optimization,
- Reasoning,
- Adaptability.
This presentation will walk attendees through the application of the LENORA framework in evaluating the strengths, weaknesses, and use cases of three commonly used AI tools, two with paid subscriptions: ChatGPT-o3 Mini-High and Gemini Advanced, and Deepseek's open-source model. Beyond technical comparison, this presentation makes a compelling case for how LENORA complements and extends the six frames of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. Each LENORA component maps onto the six information literacy frames, offering a dual-layered approach to teaching students how to use AI tools ethically, strategically, and critically.
Please RSVP! You will be emailed the credentials for this fantastic talk!!
This talk will be presented by Trevor Watkins.
This is the rescheduling of an event that was canceled on March 22nd.
