ABOUT ACTION FOR HAPPINESS
We all want to live happy and fulfilling lives and we want the people we love to be happy too. So happiness matters to all of us.
Happiness is about our lives as a whole: it includes the fluctuating feelings we experience everyday but also our overall satisfaction with life. It is influenced by our genes, upbringing and our external circumstances - such as our health, our work and our financial situation. But crucially it is also heavily influenced by our choices - our inner attitudes, how we approach our relationships, our personal values and our sense of purpose.
Action for Happiness works to support evidence based practices and theories that support well being. Local group website: www.actionforhappinessbrighton.org.uk.
Check out the national site for resources, FAQs and much more.

**We also recommend you officially join the AFH Brighton group on the main AFH website here: [www.actionforhappiness.org/groups/brighton]. While there, you can also check out the various great resources Action for Happiness has to offer.** - Exploring Self-Care through Therapeutic Dance (Action for Happiness Brighton)Unitarian Church Hall,, Brighton, BN1 1UF
We're excited to have a workshop that explores self-care through therapeutic tango, with special guest Genevieve Picquart. Genevieve is an experienced counsellor, couples therapist psychotherapist, tango DJ/teacher and great friend of our AFH Brighton Community.
Tango has been called “the meditative yoga of dance”… and the approach we'll be exploring is so very different from Strictly Come Dancing! It’s far more about connecting with yourself and the person you are dancing with. This tango is designed to improve your balance, suppleness, posture, confidence, self esteem, clarity, decision making, creativity etc…
Only easy steps will be taught and there will be a gentle warm up to start with. All ages, levels of fitness are welcome and you don't need to be a dancer. The workshop will involve connecting with others through dance, so if you don't feel comfortable with physical contact (such as hugging) then this wouldn't be the event for you. You are welcome to come alone or with others.
We recommend you RSVP by officially joining the 10 Keys Group here https://actionforhappiness.org/groups/brighton . We can then send you additional info and resources relevant to the session.
