This is the Meetup page for the Calgary-based local group of Action for Happiness. You can join the Calgary mailing list by clicking here.
Action for Happiness is a global movement of people taking action to create a happier world. We share tips for happiness in a monthly calendar, which you can view here.
You have FIVE different ways to get involved with Calgary Action for Happiness:
- Happy Café: Every Wednesday night (every week) at Carya Village Commons (East Village). Attend if you would like to socialize and have deeper conversations about happiness. Plus 1 hour of Bollywood Zumba (optional) before the Happy Café!
- Happiness Habits course: One 2-hour session per week, for 6 weeks. Started October 30. Online only. Attend if you would like a deeper dive into the 10 Keys to happier living.
- 10 Keys meeting: Once a month, on the first Tuesday of the month, at the Central Library AND online (it's a hybrid meeting at the moment). Attend if you would like a monthly check-in with tips for happier living.
- Positive psychology book club: One meeting per month (at the end of the month). Online only. Attend if you're an avid reader who loves book clubs. Must complete Action for Happiness volunteer training in order to access this book club.
- Webinar book club: One meeting per month. Attend if you enjoy the talks posted on the Action for Happiness YouTube channel, and you would like to discuss these talks with others. Like a book club, but for webinars! Must complete volunteer training to access this club.
ABOUT ACTION FOR HAPPINESS
We all want to live happy and fulfilling lives, and we want the people we love to be happy too. So happiness matters to all of us.
Happiness is about our lives as a whole: it includes the fluctuating feelings that we experience every day, but also our overall satisfaction with life.
Happiness is influenced by our genes, by our upbringing, and by our external circumstances. But crucially, it is also heavily influenced by our choices, our values, and our habits.

Keep walking straight until you see a "coffee nook" on the right. You will see a bunch of people sketching at the tables in front of the "coffee nook". That's us!

4. AWARENESS: Live life mindfully
5. TRYING OUT: Keep learning new things6. DIRECTION: Have goals to look forward to
7. RESILIENCE: Find ways to bounce back
8. EMOTIONS: Look for what's good
9. ACCEPTANCE: Be comfortable with who you are
