Mindful movement meditation 🧘 🌳
Details
We will practice mindfulness in nature with gentle body movements. You could call this slow yoga, with presence to your surroundings, being in your body and with awareness of your mind.
5:00 We’ll start with our names and interest in the session and then share what you are currently feeling if you’d like.
5:15 Then I will guide you through basic movements and pauses as we include hearing, feeling and allowing. At the end I’ll guide your attention through your body parts, and you can do this lying down or with your eyes open if you wish.
6:15 Then to finish we can share what we experienced or any insights.
I’m a mindfulness teacher and yoga teacher and this is a simplified session for those with basic movement capabilities to sit, kneel, lie down (and get up again!). You are responsible for listening to your body and adapting to make yourself comfortable.
You may notice thoughts and feelings arise as we slow down, which may include peace, but could also be boredom, frustration or anxiety as we peel back the layers of our usual busy lives.
Note: This is not an exercise class or about stretching or alignment, it’s about being present to your experience.
It’s in a public park so there may be a dog or two ;) and also be prepared for warmth or wind depending on the weather.
Please bring:
-an exercise mat or something wsimilar
-optional cushion/folded blanket
-drink bottle
-wear comfy modest clothes
