The new exhibit “Farm to Table: Art, Food, and Identity in the Age of Impressionism” features more than 50 artworks by artists like Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Claude Monet. The subjects span the range of food production, from Monet’s lone haystack in “La Meule” to the hustle and bustle of a Parisian market in Victor Gabriel Gilbert’s “Le Carreau des Halles.” [pictured above] All reflect how France shaped its national identity and cuisine in the decades following the Franco-Prussian War in 1870. visitsam.org While we're visiting SAM, I'd also like to take a quick look at a couple of other exhibits, ash-glazed ceramics korea & japan. The NW Indian art is always good to re-visit, as well.

After we see the exhibits we can walk a short distance to Olympia Coffee's Cedar Hall store at 1420 5th Ave. and check out what they have to offer and have a better chance to chat with each other before we go our own ways. Here's a sampling via their pre-order site: https://olympiacoffee.craverapp.com/

Join in for some truly great art appreciation on this autumn day! Your Seattle Gold Card will get you in for a significant discount, and other discounts are available, as well: SAM discounts. As always, the very easiest way to reach SAM is via either light rail or bus. Both stop nearby.
