If this appears to be déjà vu it just may be. Some of us saw this great exhibit on an October Friday. Your organizer would like to re-visit it and also offer an opportunity for those who couldn't go then to see the exhibit on a weekend day with other group members. It ends on Jan. 18.

The exhibit “Farm to Table: Art, Food, and Identity in the Age of Impressionism” features more than 50 artworks by artists like Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Claude Monet. The subjects span the range of food production, from Monet’s lone haystack in “La Meule” to the hustle and bustle of a Parisian market in Victor Gabriel Gilbert’s “Le Carreau des Halles.” [pictured above] All reflect how France shaped its national identity and cuisine in the decades following the Franco-Prussian War in 1870. visitsam.org While we're visiting SAM, I'd also like to take a quick look at a couple of other pieces/exhibits including this one: animal intelligence. The NW Indian art space is always good to re-visit, as well. We can decide whether or not we want to visit this room once we've seen the other works.

After we see the exhibits we can walk a short distance to Mendocino Farms cafe' https://www.mendocinofarms.com/locations/Rainier-Square for a casual, reasonable late lunch and a better chance to chat with each other before we go our own ways.

Join in for some truly great art appreciation on this winter day! Your Seattle Gold Card will get you in for a significant discount, and other discounts are available, as well: SAM discounts. As always, the very easiest way to reach SAM is via either light rail or bus. Both stop nearby.
