Easy/Medium hike at Hemlock Overlook, 4 Miles

Details
This weekend, let's go do an oldie but a goodie at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park. The trail will wind us down a hill to follow along the meandering Bull Run waterway, eventually peeling away to circle back up through the woods to the parking lot. If there's interest, we can hop the concrete pylons to do an additional short out and back up to the railroad tracks- it's a pretty stretch of river. I'm marking this as an Easy/Medium hike because while the trails are well traveled and mostly flat, you'll experience a little elevation change to get your heart thumping, plus the trail can be rocky in places. This hike should take us about 2.5 hours.
Unless there's a cataclysmic thunderstorm forecast for Saturday morning, we'll do this hike rain or shine. If there are any changes, I will let you know by 7:00 on Saturday morning. Be aware that the wet week ahead will likely make trails slippery and muddy, so please come prepared for the elements- sneakers may leave you with soggy feet, so I recommend hiking shoes or boots. It'll be warm, so bring water for you and your dog.
The Northern Regional Park Authority, which operates Hemlock Overlook, requires that pets be ON LEASH.
See you on Saturday!
