Happy Valley Reservoir Shoreline Loop
Details
Hello, you're invited to a 2.5h walk around the shoreline loop at the Happy Valley Reservoir on Sunday Jan 4th. We'll walk counter clockwise. It's a pretty easy walk for experienced walkers, it's a total of 11kms, mostly flat with a few small hills.
The weather on the 4th Jan is supposed to be a top of 28 degrees, partly cloudy. So an early start should be cool enough for a good walk.
meeting location:
We can meet at the little coffee caravan just inside the park, at the southern car park (the big car park) at 8am. I'm happy to wait around for up to 10 mins, but it's better if we all arrive a little early or exactly on time.
What to expect: Just a walk, a chat, some fresh air, good views and kangaroos. Bring a drink, or just arrive well hydrated.
There is 1 toilet on the shoreline loop a few kms in which is super handy, 1 toilet around the 9km mark, also 1 toilet right at the car park.
There are 3 water fountains on the loop, but the first is a good 6kms in. I do this loop all the time as I live a short walk away, I personally don't carry water or a bag with me, as I hydrate before the walk. if i'm still thirsty there are those 3 water fountains, but I never need them. Sometimes i'll bring a snack in my pocket for breakfast.
What to wear: good shoes, adequate sun protection (check the weather) and clothes that breathe well. It's not going to be cold, just nice weather, possibly cloudy and a tiny chance of a few rain drops.
Hope to see you there!
