About us

The Drift Collective is a community for everyone
who feels pulled to the ocean. We are a growing group of ocean lovers, marine
scientists, divers, rock poolers, readers, and curious coastal people based in Adelaide โ€” brought together by a genuine love of the sea and the
science behind it.

We meet regularly across the SA coastline and
beyond for:

๐ŸŒŠ Drift Walks โ€” guided coastal and tidal pool
experiences led by a marine scientist

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Current Talks โ€” informal evening science talks with
the researchers actually working in SA waters

๐Ÿ“– Book Club โ€” ocean science reads, accessible
and deep, meeting at a local cafรฉ

๐Ÿคฟ Coastal Experiences โ€” snorkels, whale watching,
night dives, exclusive lab and museum visits,
and eventually group dive travel

No expertise required. No gatekeeping. Whether you are a PhD researcher or someone who just finished My Octopus Teacher and didn't know where to put that feeling โ€” you belong here.

The Drift Collective was founded by Charley, a marine scientist based in Adelaide who built this community because she couldn't find it anywhere else.

We are just getting started and we would love to have you along for the ride.

See you on the rocks ๐ŸŒŠ
