What we’re about

Adult Piano Student of San Diego County is a group for people who would like to:

- Meet other piano players
- Share the pieces you’re working on
- Learn from others
- Practice playing in front of others
- Make new friends

This is a group for all skill levels -- the only requirement is that you be willing to play your piece(s) in front of a friendly and supportive audience.

We meet monthly in different member's homes to play.  Because events are held in private homes, we request that your profile for this group includes an actual picture of you and your real first name.

As adult piano students we know it's really important to have time to perform publicly, but recitals with 99% young children and their parents are just too awkward. Therefore we started a group that can set up some opportunities for adult piano students to play publicly with other students, friends, and family in appropriate setting and supportive environment- musical evenings, small recitals, music clubs, etc.

A monthly Piano Club is where we meet informally to share a piece with each other in a comfortable and supportive environment while we work on our public performing skills. Your music does not have to be memorized or polished, and don't worry about mistakes. We want everyone to enjoy themselves. We have from beginner to advanced level members, even some music teachers- but we all have issues with performance anxiety. However, in this format we all take turns "embarrassing ourselves" which takes a lot of the pressure off.

We will also have occasional recitals where we can invite friends and family to hear us play.

We would love for you to come and participate in both venues.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, feel free to contact one of the organizers.
