Park along Gabbiano Lane and we'll start the walk near the Nature Center Trailhead.

Come out for a pleasant Sunday afternoon easy walk, out and back along the north shore of the Batiquitos Lagoon Preserve. Total length is 3-3.5 miles taking ~2 hours.

A good place for bird watchers, so bring your binoculars, and take a stop inside the Nature Center afterwards. There are several display panels along the trail to explain the history, plant and animal life of the tidal lagoon.

Trail is flat, hard pack dirt so any shoes will do.
Dogs with water are ok to bring on leash.
Bathroom in the Nature Center is available.

Wear comfortable walking attire and shoes. Bring water, small snack, sunglasses, sunscreen, visor/cap... whatever you need for an enjoyable walk.

Directions: 1) From Hwy 5, exit at Poinsettia Ln, go a little east and take Batiquitos Dr (right) southward, then right turn onto Gabbiano Ln to the end for parking or anywhere along the street is ok.

OR

2. From Escondido area: Hwy 78 west to San Marcos Blvd west becomes Palomar Airport Rd westbound. Follow to El Camino Real southwards to west (right) on Aviara Parkway (Alga Rd) to Batiquitos Dr (left-south). Follow 2 miles to left on Gabbiano Lane to end for parking.

We DO NOT meet inside the church... we meet a couple of driveways up from the church... look for the warehouse building where the food is stored.

We meet every Thursday between 9-9:30am to set up. We organize the food, pray and start servicing cars by 10am.

We need:

- food box organizers

- car greeters

- car loaders

- assist where needed

Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

We are finished by 1pm but you can leave earlier if you need to.

This outreach runs every Thursday until further notice.
