Snowshoeing and Snow Play!

Soooooo, we are finally getting some good rain this week! And it’s cold rain. Cold rain down here means snow in the mountains. That means we are finally going to be able to go shoeing in the snow, AKA snowshoeing! Yaaaaay!!! We've been wanting to do that for a while, but the weather was not cooperating!
I know this is short notice, but this weekend is our chance. We're supposed to get quite a bit of snow this week, but next week it is supposed to warm up a bit, so the following weekend might not be so good.
THE PLAN
We were planning on going to Mt. Waterman, but as it turns out, the 2 is closed before Buckhorn, so, even though Waterman itself is open, we can’t get there! Now, there will be plenty of locations along the 2 that we can snowshoe. Chilao is one, and I know it’s open. So, here is what we’re going to do: We’ll meet at the bottom of the 2 at 10:00 AM. There is a great area there, where we always meet and organize carpool. We’ll do that, get in as few cars as possible to go up, and find a location. I’ll bring walkie-talkies, so we can communicate while we are driving. We’ll find a nice trailhead, pull over, and go snowshoeing. Just like the original plan, we’ll snowshoe for about 1.5 hours, find a nice scenic location, and head back. Afterwards, as usual, we can go have a pizza and beer in La Canada.
