Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants

This outing will look at and experience wild plants -- for food, medicine, and utilitarian uses. too. The outing starts with an easy-rated walkabout to identify and explore some of the common local plants and their uses, which will include a harvest and sampling of the edible ones for a salad or tasting.
Additionally, you will learn about the medicinal plants, where you will learn how to make your own salve. taking home one for your own.
Proper harvesting techniques and ethics will also be covered.
Overall, it's guaranteed for you to come away with a basic ethnobotanical understanding of some of our local flora.
This class is presented in an easy-paced way, allowing time to fully understand the edible and useful gifts the plant world provides.
For adults, and children 12 years and older (must be accompanied by adult)
RSVP required. Directions and What-to-bring sent upon RSVP.
$40/person. $30/person student discount. Fee Includes all materials, including for the medicinal plant salve.
